This title has a total of six playable characters. The sixth title in the franchise introduces the standard assortment of new vehicles, such as the Slug Driller. The fifth title in this anthology of games adds in a new sliding mechanic, letting you traverse levels quicker. It introduces two new playable characters: Trevor and Nadia. The fourth title in the franchise also features new weapons and vehicles. This choice gives the title an additional level of playability. At specific points in the title, you can choose from one of two routes. It features more enemies per level, music, and a slightly altered level design.The third title in this PlayStation anthology introduces branching paths. Metal Slug X is a remix of the second title, which is why SNK designates it with a letter instead of a number. There are new weapons and vehicles, like a gun-toting camel, and the number of characters has been increased from two to four. You can now transform into different forms during play, such as a mummy. This tank will destroy anything in its path with ease.The second game in the anthology adds a number of enhancements. At various points in the game, you can get behind the wheel of a massive tank. At the end of each level is a giant screen-filling boss. Over the course of six levels, you'll shoot and bomb the enemy forces. Choose from two different characters at the start of the game. Up to two players can simultaneously play this video game, so grab one of your friends and battle it out.Metal Slug is a bona fide classic and looks great on the PlayStation 2. The action game has a rating of "Teen" by the ESRB for animated blood and violence.
